Sweet Potato Chips

I am a sucker for crunchiness and I crave it more now that I can’t just grab a bag of chips from the grocery store and start mow’n down.  Not to mention its hard to find chips that don’t have dairy additives in their flavorings, who would of thought?!  Granted there are some great Gluten and Dairy free chips out there one of my favorite brands is Food Should Taste Good, and Late July Organic Gluten Free chips.  Both companies have a great selection of flavors and ingredients.

Today, I am looking for something a little healthier, perhaps some kale chips and some sweet potato chips!!!  They’re so yummy. And they make for the perfect snack or tasty partner to a burger or sandwich, like a delicious Open Face Portobello Sandwich. Enjoy!

Sweet Potato Chips Recipe
1 large yam slice into thing slices 1/8 inch or less

1/4 cup olive oil

spices of your choice, I used Cumin, Curry Powder, Black Pepper, Sea Salt, Cayenne Pepper (to taste)

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Wash and peel sweet potato.  Combine all seasonings with oil in a bowl.  Add sliced sweet potatoes and mix or toss until coated well.  On ungreased baking sheets lay sweet potato slices in a single layer.

Bake 20-30 minutes, flip potato’s half way through cooking time. Time may vary depending on ovens, watch for burning. Bake until golden brown and crispy.

Another favorite recipe of mine is sweet potato frys!!! There is an excellent Tutorial from Instructables
