GF/Vegan Biscuits and Gravy

It’s official, I have finely mastered a Gluten Free/Vegan Biscuits and Gravy recipe.  The great thing about this recipe is it’s so versatile.  The gravy can be used for casseroles and the biscuit recipe can be modified for scones.

Gluten Free Vegan Gravy:

1/2 yellow or white onion

2 cloves garlic

1 jalapeno

1 Tbsp. Earth Balance Butter (DF)

Sautee: above ingredients until tender

If you eat meat add your choice of meat to sauteed onion, garlic and jalapeno


In Sauce Pan whisk together equal parts of gluten free flour and dairy free butter

Cook flour into a roux (it’s ok if it starts to brown)- you want to cook the flour taste out of the roux

If you want a cheesy taste add nutritional yeast

Slowly add roux paste to your choice of dairy free milk (if making a gravy for dinner add to a gluten free chicken or vegetable stock)

Stir slowly until desired consistency is reached

Add Daiya allergy free cheese (mozzarella works great for biscuits and gravy)

Salt and Pepper to taste
