Dandelion Mango Smoothie

Dandelion’s are a little bit of a craze but also have some great benefits for you.  Not to mention high in vitamins, A, C, B spectrum, E and K.  Check out 10 reasons why you should add dandelion greens here and there to life.

Green Smoothies are an acquired taste and take some time for the taste buds to warm up to and the digestive track to get use to as well.  TIP: I like to drink a glass of water with my protein smoothie.  Water helps everything function better in the body.

Dandelion Mango Smoothie

1 cup Dandelion Greens

1/4 – 1/2 cup frozen mango

1/4 frozen banana

1 Tbsp flax seed

1Tbsp chia seed

1/4 tsp. honey (just a touch)

Protein Powder

Side Note: Because this is a fitness competition I have cut my fruit portions in half, normally I would probably have about a 1/2 cup of frozen mango and 1/2 banana.

Fruit is very high in sugar, but it’s better for you then a candy bar.  Stephanie featured some of the big allergens that I have highlighted over time.  Check out what the FDA admits about sugar and why we should probably cut back on it, even the healthy sugars.

Tip: If you fruit isn’t frozen this is ok too, just add ice to the smoothie

[...] Another excellent, excellent smoothie from Cleanse America.  The only hint I can give you is it involves dandelions.  But those of you that followed me on the recent 24 day fitness challenge with Stephanie Winters, know my love for dandelion greens in the spring time and early summer.  Try one of my favorites Dandelion Mango Smoothie [...]
