Corn… Is it safe?

I don’t know about some of you out there but I have extreme reactions to gluten and gluten cross contamination.  One thing that I strongly react to is corn.  I love “Food Should Taste Good” chips.  There jalapeno tortilla chips are amazing as are their multi grain gluten free tortillas.  I know that I react to not only tostido’s corn tortilla’s.  I also react to non-gluten free specific corn meals, polenta and “Food Should Taste Good” gluten free chips.


As of now these products can be certified Gluten Free because the USDA considers them to not be one of the grains (wheat, rye, barley, malt, spelt, and oat), that cause celiacs or wheat sensitive people problems.  However corn does have gluten in it and people are speaking out about how they are reacting to it.

I’m so glad I ran across this article because i’ve had reactions to corn for about a year now but have been in complete denial about it because it’s just one more thing to add to the list.  My reactions are not as sever as grains such as wheat, rye, and barley.  They are less sever like an oat reaction.  However, I still have a reaction.
